Milan city breaks and recreation stops are chic and sophisticated. It’s the commercial capital of Italy. If shopping is your thing, then Milan has something to blow you away. They boast some of the best shopping anywhere in the world, and are famous for the ‘Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. You can take in some opera while you’re there. They’re also famous for their La Scala Theatre.

Many who flock to Milan do so because of their rich history. Their old ancient buildings with the old architecture and their churches have been a big draw for history buffs for a long time. The Gothic Duomo is a must-see for those who are seeking a history lesson.

For you who are into fashion, then you’ll never forget Milan. Like I said, Milan city breaks wreak of variety. Four squares make up the main hub for fashion in Milan. One is the Piazza Cordusio, then there’s the Piazza San Babila, and the Piazza Carioli, and finally the Piazza Duomo. You can find great shopping around these four squares unlike anything you’ve seen anywhere else.

Does the name ‘Leonardo Da Vinci’ ring a bell? You can find his works hanging in some of these churches in Milan. Probably his most famous one of all is ‘The Last Supper’, which you can find here hanging in the church of Santa Maria dell Grazie. So whether you’re into history, art, shopping or architecture, you’ve landed in the right place if you’re in Milan.

We celebrate Happy Hour here in the U. S. And it seems the idea has caught on even as far as Milan. They throw out a buffet and put up some drinks for about five Euro and celebrate the occasion as well. Their cuisine doesn’t need a build up, we all know how the Italians eat, and we like it. Cheap hotel deals can be had during your stay as well. It’s just a good idea to keep Milan in mind when determining where to go on your break.

Recreation and Milan city breaks go hand in hand. But if you find you have a taste for more of a country scene, then only 40 minutes train ride can get you out to the Lombardy Mountains. Here you’ll find some of the most beautiful lakes and valleys you’ve ever seen. So if your choice for a break settles on Milan, you’ve done yourself well.
