Instant gratification is something the our current society, and more so the upcoming generation, has come to expect. Medical innovations such as plastic surgery have allowed people to lose weight on the fly or to quickly eliminate face wrinkles and the like. Acne is not one of those conditions which lends itself to instant gratification. It is much more multifaceted than your standard disorder and will resurface if not properly and consistently treated. Many refuse to accept this fact and continue to squeeze at their pimples. If you have any intention of curing yourself of this disorder, you should consider your alternative options. After all, picking at pimples can have some dire consequences.
Aside from those who squeeze their pimples for the mere fun of it, most of us have one goal in mind in tampering with our lesions - to get rid of them. Unfortunately, we accomplish anything but this. Applying pressure to a pimple can thrust the bacteria further downward, elongating its overall lifespan. The bacteria can even seep into nearby pores. Is one pimple really worth the aggravation of three new ones?
Acne scars are an integral part of the discussion surrounding pimples popping. Scars are sometimes caused by the lesions themselves, but in more mild cases of acne they are caused by the sufferer him or herself. Picking at any pimple, especially inflamed ones situated under the skin can cause some very unsightly scarring. You don’t want to wakeup one morning after completing your acne treatment to find a face full of scars!
Despite what advertisements tell you, there are not instant cures for acne. Squeezing at your pimples will only grant you short-lived relief. When you decide to get serious about treating your disorder, you will have to completely stop picking at your pimples. Only practice will help you eliminate these bad habits. The quicker you get started, the faster you will have a clear complexion.
If you want semi-quick results for an important date, use a generous amount of benzoyl peroxide (2.5% concentration) on your troubling lesions. This should dry them out as well as eliminate p. acnes bacteria. You will not see improvement if you tamper with your pimples, so restrain yourself.
