Steve Martin is an award winning, multi-talented actor that has played in many movies that were released both in the US and world wide. His performances have earned multiple awards from the prestigious institutions such as Golden Globe and Academy Awards. He is a multi-talented man who is also a writer, producer, playwright, musician and a composer.

Steve started as a stand-up comedian and worked his way through the movie industry. With Steve’s almost natural ability to make people laugh, his movies are definitely something to look for if you’re looking for some feel-good funny movies.

His first appearance was in a movie Disneyland Dream, way back in 1956. The movie was about a family who won a trip to Disneyland. This movie had some fantastic snapshots of the old Southern California. Recently, the US National Filming Registry found this movie as being historically and culturally significant, and thus endorsed the movie for preservation.

Steve’s biggest hit came in 1977. In the Absent-Minded Waiter, he played as the waiter himself whom much of the audiences got annoyed with, and laughed at during that time, as he acted to be a waiter who can’t seem to do anything right. Steve’s popularity improved as this very short movie was nominated into the Academy Awards.

Up until 1989, Steve had only been into comedy movies. He made some twist in his career when he took part in Pennies from Heaven, a more serious drama movie that made some a lot of fuzz that year. He had to learn some new things. His role needed to have some dancing scenes so Steve had to learn how to tap dance for that movie. Not suprisingly, he did it well. It was the finest moment of his career during that time when all his efforts won him the Golden Globe Awards for Best Actor that year.

Since then, he has been into numerous movies playing different roles and showcasing his fantastic acting ability.

One of his movies, The Pink Panther 2, was just released in 2009. The movie is just your typical “detective catches that bad villain” type, but wiith some fun twists. Steve played that detective, but not the typical one that you would normally think of. The Pink Panther 2 is a follow up success to its predecessor, The Pink Panther 1, which was shown a couple of years before, in 2006.

Another movie of Steve Martin in 2009 is entitled It’s Complicated. The movie title says it all. The movie’s story is complicated. Yes that’s right. The movie is all about Jane, a middle age woman who got separated from her husband. As the story goes, her husband is living with another woman but Jane is still having as affair with him. So now, she is “the other woman” in this very complicated relationship. Steve plays the guy who’s in love with Jane, and finds out her affair with her ex-husband through a webcam. The title, It’s Complicated, might have been literally meant by the director.

Disney will be releasing another movie this 2010 and Steve is part of the cast. It’s an animated movie so the guy is expected to do a voice over to one of the characters. With his first movie role as a kid who works for Disney, it seems that he’s becoming a favorite of the guys in Disney.

Steve Martin movies are full packed with twisted plots and funny scenes which is doing its job well to keep audiences on their seats. In today’s very busy lifestyle, it couldn’t hurt once in a while to sit back, relax and enjoy some good-feel movies, and definitely, Steve Martin movies should be on the list.
